Moon When Geese Return
April’s Full Moon is known as the Moon When Geese Return in Scattered Formation. In winter we huddle together to stay warm and safe, but in spring it is the time to spread out to go forward on our own path. Commonly we think of spring as a time of new beginnings, but in this context, the beginning has everything to do with our need to refocus on our personal mission.
Yet, we are living in a world where dependency has never been greater. Our traditions, history and culture have significant influence in our daily lives. And with the globalization of the world, it seems that we have never been more interconnected, and with that, more dependent. It is not easy to split apart from the herd to follow the calling that only you can hear, but it is essential.
As we watch the geese flying overhead on their return to their nesting sites, it is a reminder that we too must heed the call of nature and grow in the direction of our own light.
